About this worksheet
Fifteen problems, each on its own colored band with three circled answers to choose between. The facts include 9x9, 8x8, 7x7, 6x8 and 7x6, and the two wrong choices sit close to the right one every time, so 6 x 8 offers 40, 48 and 54 rather than three numbers far apart.
Circling instead of writing changes who can finish this page. A child whose handwriting is still slow, or who has decided they are bad at math and freezes at a blank line, will often work through fifteen of these without noticing. The close answer choices keep it honest, since narrowing three near numbers to one still takes the fact. It reads more like a quiz than a drill sheet, which is the point.
