About this worksheet
Twenty addition sentences in two columns, each written across the line the way a child sees them in a book: 3 + 4 = ___. Every sum is 10 or less, with zeros, ones, doubles like 4 + 4 and 5 + 5, and pairs that make ten like 2 + 8 and 4 + 6.
First grade is when sums to 10 should start to feel automatic, and the horizontal layout is the other half of that skill, since many children can add in a column long before they are comfortable reading a sum left to right. The large type and plain frame make it easy to read for a child who is still settling into worksheets.
