About this worksheet
Twelve division problems, three-digit and four-digit, and every answer has at least one zero in it. 624 divided by 3 is 208, and 8,016 divided by 2 is 4,008.
Forgetting the zero is the single most common long division mistake, and it is an easy one to miss because the rest of the working looks right. Giving it a page of its own makes the moment visible: when you bring down a digit and the divisor does not go in, a zero goes in the answer before you bring down the next one.
What students will practice
- Write a zero in the quotient when a place cannot be divided
- Divide three- and four-digit numbers
