Christmas Gift Tracing Worksheet for Kids

About this worksheet

A large wrapped gift with a bow and a gift tag takes up most of the page, and its six horizontal bands each carry a dotted pattern to trace. They build in order: a straight dotted line, short vertical strokes, gentle waves, sharp zigzags, circles, then loops. Tracing them turns the plain box into wrapping paper.

Working left to right across each band is the same movement writing will need later, and the patterns get harder in a sensible order so a child who sails through the straight line still has somewhere to go by the loops. Once the tracing is done the whole gift is there to color.
