About this worksheet
Six subtraction problems within 10, each with its own number line from 0 to 10. A cheerful frog on a lily pad sets the scene as the child starts on the first number, hops back and writes where they land.
A number line keeps the counting visible while the objects disappear, so it is a natural step for a child who is ready to stop drawing pictures.
The most common slip is counting the starting number as the first hop. If an answer comes out one too high, that is usually why, and it is worth doing one problem together with a finger on the line.
