About this worksheet
Twelve subtraction equations to mark true or false by circling T or F. Some are ordinary, some are written backward (6 = 10 − 4), and some have subtraction on both sides (8 − 2 = 7 − 1).
Many first graders think the equal sign means the answer comes next. These equations show that it really means the same as.
The backward ones and the two-sided ones usually spark the best conversations, so leave a little time to talk about them.
