About this worksheet
Eight rows, each with a number word on the left and three numerals to choose from. Four, one, seven, two, ten, five, three, eight. Read the word, circle the number.
Three choices is harder than a line-matching page and easier than writing the numeral, so this sits neatly between the two. The wrong answers are picked to be plausible rather than silly: the row for ten offers ten, four and six, and the row for five offers nine, three and five, so a child guessing on shape alone has a poor chance.
Everything is set in very large, plain type with dashed rules between the rows. That is worth more than it sounds at this age, because a child who loses their place halfway down a crowded page stops trusting their own answers.
Black and white, and a small vector PDF, so a class set is close to free.
