About this worksheet
Five rows of pets run down the page: four kittens, two goldfish, five bunnies, one turtle and three puppies. The numbers 1 to 5 sit on the right in mixed order, and the child counts each row and draws a line to its number.
Pets are an easy way in for preschoolers, who tend to want to count the animals anyway. Each group sits in a straight row, so this suits a child who is still learning to count left to right without skipping one. It pairs well with the bakery treats page, which works the same way with different pictures.
