About this worksheet
Five rows of space pictures, two rockets, four stars, one moon, five little aliens and three planets, each with an empty five frame beside it. The child counts the pictures and colors one box for each, starting from the left.
A five frame is the smaller cousin of the ten frame, and it helps children see amounts as shapes: four is one box short of full, five fills it. That picture of five becomes the base for adding and subtracting later. Coloring the boxes also makes each count a matching job, one picture for one box.
