CVC Words Picture Matching Worksheet for Kindergarten

About this worksheet

Six pictures down the left, six words down the right, and a line to draw between them. The words are sun, cat, bed, pig, mop and bus, one for each short vowel except u twice, and nothing on the page needs writing.

This is the easiest sheet in the set and the right place to start. A child who cannot yet sound a word out can still work by first letter alone, and that is fine here. The pairs that need real reading are cat and cup, which both begin with c, so the middle sound has to do the deciding. Plain black on white, so it prints for pennies as a class set.
