About this worksheet

Six short u words with their letters jumbled in circles: bug, sun, cup, bus, nut and rug. Say the picture, work out the order, write it on the lines.

This is the hardest sheet in the set, and it is deliberately last. The letters are all there, so nothing has to be recalled from memory, but a child has to hold the word in their head while sorting three loose letters against it. Every answer starts and ends with a consonant and has the u in the middle, which is the clue to give a child who stalls. The acorn is the one picture worth naming first, since the word wanted is nut.
