About this worksheet

Six full-color toys sit in two rows with an empty box under each: a rocking horse, a rubber duck, a kite, a train, a teddy bear and a plane. Six word cards wait below a cut line, and a child snips them out and glues each one in the box under the toy it names.

The words are horse, duck, kite, train, bear and plane, all short and all starting with a different letter, so a child who is still sounding things out can get there on the first letter alone. The cutting is its own work: six straight-sided cards is a comfortable amount of scissor practice for one sitting.

Pairs with the other two cut-and-paste toy pages for a small set. Run this one first, since the color art gives the most support.
