About this worksheet

The same cut-and-paste task as the rest of the set, drawn in a soft kawaii style with pastel colors and rounded outlines. Six toys with a blank box under each: a robot, a yo-yo, a jump rope, a doll, a beach ball and a little dinosaur.

The word cards are robot, yo-yo, rope, doll, ball and dino. Two of them are worth a word first: rope names the jump rope, and dino is the short form a child is far more likely to say than “dinosaur.” Every word starts with a different letter, so the first sound is enough to solve it.

Of the three cut-and-paste toy pages this is the friendliest looking, and it is the one children tend to pick up first.

What students will practice

  • Match a written word to the picture it names
  • Read six common toy words
  • Cut on a line and place a card accurately
