A striped hot air balloon fills the page, its five bands each carrying an addition problem, with two clouds, a sun and the basket holding five more. The key sets 8 to red, 10 to blue, 12 to yellow and 14 to green, and all ten sums fall on those four numbers. Several of the doubles turn up here, 5 + 5, 6 + 6 and 4 + 4, which gives a child an easy start before the trickier 6 + 8.
The banded balloon is the appeal: the stripes color in as solid blocks of red, blue, yellow and green, so the finished sheet actually looks like something worth putting on the fridge. Good for a quiet twenty minutes, and it prints in black and white.
