About this worksheet

A boxed color key sets the rule: 6 = red, 9 = blue, 12 = green, 15 = yellow. Fifteen problems are printed inside the regions of one picture, and every product lands on one of those four numbers. The child solves a fact, writes the product on the short blank, then colors that region accordingly. The picture shows a smiling seated cat holding a bunch of balloons, with a rainbow arc, four clouds, a curved ground line and balloon clusters in the corners, all uncolored outline.

Because the products repeat across only four values, the coloring itself confirms the arithmetic: a wrong answer sends the child to the wrong crayon. Note that one problem uses 15 as a factor (15 x 1), a little beyond the usual second grade table, so a child may need a nudge on that one. Set out red, blue, green and yellow before you hand the sheet over.

What students will practice

  • Solve multiplication facts with products of 6, 9, 12 and 15
  • Match each product to its color in the key
  • Color inside the lines of each region
