Six clock faces are divided into twelve wedges, one for each five minutes. Under each, an instruction names a start and an end time and a color: color the spaces from 7:00 to 7:25 pink, from 2:15 to 2:35 green, from 11:50 to 12:15 yellow. A line below each clock is for writing how many minutes passed.
Coloring the sweep turns elapsed time into something the child can see, which is the whole idea. Counting five wedges and writing twenty-five is a shorter leap than subtracting one time from another, and the interval that runs from 11:50 to 12:15 makes them cross the top of the clock rather than staying in tidy territory. A submarine and a few starfish decorate the corners, and it prints in black and white.
