About this worksheet
Six shape patterns, each followed by an arrow and two shapes to pick from. The child says the pattern out loud, works out what comes next, and circles it.
There are triangles and circles, squares with a smiling star, hearts and diamonds, a circle, square, triangle repeat, hexagons and rectangles, and ovals with a triangle. Choosing between two shapes is easier than drawing one, so this is a good first check that a child can see a pattern rather than just copy it. Reading each row aloud (“triangle, circle, triangle, circle…”) is the quickest way to hear the answer.
