About this worksheet
Four rows of bug patterns, each with one empty box. The difference here is that the gap is not always at the end; it can sit in the middle of the row. Eight bug cards wait at the bottom of the page to cut out, and the child glues the missing bug into each gap.
A gap in the middle is harder than one at the end, because the child has to read the pattern on both sides of it. It shows whether a child really understands a pattern or is just continuing the last thing they saw. Only four of the cards are needed, and the page prints in black and white so the bugs can be colored afterward.
