About this worksheet
Ten problems, and every one is a double. Each of 1 + 1, 2 + 2, 3 + 3, 4 + 4 and 5 + 5 appears twice, once in each column and in a different order, so the second time round is a chance to remember instead of count. A pair of mittens sits by the title.
Doubles are usually the first addition facts children know by heart, and they become the anchor for “near doubles” like 4 + 5 later on. Fingers are a natural check here: five on each hand is 5 + 5.
