About this worksheet

Twelve color scenes in a three by four grid, each with a write-on box underneath, inside a teal star border. The word bank at the top holds cook, fly, brush, dance, kick, wave, build, skate, draw, sweep, ride and hug, and every one of the twelve is used exactly once, so a child who has placed eleven can reason out the last.

The pictures do the reading work here. A kindergartner who cannot yet decode “skate” can still see a girl on roller skates, find the word that starts with s, and copy it. That is the whole point of a word bank at this age: the sheet is vocabulary and letter matching, not spelling from memory.

What students will practice

  • Name the action in a picture
  • Copy a verb from a word bank
  • Match twelve everyday verbs to twelve scenes
