About this worksheet

Eight words sit in outlined pill shapes down the left: head, mouth, tooth, tummy, finger, elbow, knee and toe. The pictures opposite are full color, and the ones that could be misread carry a small red arrow pointing at the exact spot, so the knee picture shows a whole leg with the knee flagged rather than leaving a child to guess.

Those arrows are what let this sheet use elbow, knee and tummy at all. Naming a part that sits in the middle of a limb is a step past naming a whole hand or foot, and without a pointer a child has no way to know which bit of the arm is being asked about. It pairs well with the picture-to-word sheet in this set: same skill, opposite direction, and the overlapping words give a second pass without repeating the same page.

What students will practice

  • Match eight words to their pictures
  • Read head, mouth, tooth, tummy, finger, elbow, knee, toe
  • Follow a red arrow to find the part being named
