Six weather pictures and six words to put under them, one each: sunny, rainy, cloudy, snowy, windy and stormy. The pictures do the teaching, a bright sun on blue, a grey sky letting go of rain, a tree bent sideways with its leaves coming off, a dark cloud with a lightning bolt in it.
Part B swaps pictures for clues and asks the child to reason instead of recognize. Ana needs her umbrella today, the flag is blowing hard, we can build a snowman. Each has two words to choose between, so the sentence has to be read and understood rather than matched to a picture, which is the step up that makes this worth doing after the top half.
