About this worksheet

A boy drawn in side view, ten numbered pointers running from his chin down to his heel, and a numbered legend beside him to fill in. The word bank at the foot of the page gives all ten: ankle, shoulder, hip, chin, heel, elbow, neck, knee, back and wrist. A line under the legend asks the child to tick each part they can point to on themselves.

The side view is the reason this one sits above the kindergarten sheets. A profile hides the parts a child usually keys off, so the elbow, the wrist and the heel have to be found by their position on the body rather than by recognising a familiar front-on picture. That tick-it-on-yourself line at the bottom is worth actually doing rather than skipping, since a child who can find their own wrist has learned the word in a way that copying it into a box does not quite manage.

What students will practice

  • Read a numbered diagram and fill in a matching legend
  • Name ten parts from chin down to heel
  • Point to each part on your own body to check it
