Balloon Color by Answer Subtraction Worksheet Grade 1

About this worksheet

Twelve balloons, each with a subtraction problem, and a color key at the top: 5 is red, 6 is blue, 7 is yellow and 8 is green. The child solves each problem and colors the balloon to match.

The problems mix easy ones like 8 − 2 with harder ones like 17 − 9 and 15 − 8, which cross ten. Because every answer is between 5 and 8, a balloon that comes out as anything else is an instant sign to try again.

It makes a cheerful page for the end of a lesson, and the finished sheet looks bright enough to go up on the fridge.
