About this worksheet
Sixteen subtraction sentences within 100, each with a box for the missing number. In the first column the box is in the middle, like 48 - __ = 23, and in the second it is at the start, like __ - 20 = 35. An example shows how to think it through with addition.
Missing number problems make children think about how the three numbers in a subtraction fit together, instead of just running a procedure. The ones with the box at the start are the harder half, so they make a good stretch.
