About this worksheet
Sixteen subtraction problems within 100, and before solving each one the child looks at the ones and circles yes or no: does this one need regrouping? Exactly half of them do, and a detective puppy keeps watch from the corner.
Knowing when to regroup is a separate skill from knowing how. A child who has only ever practiced one or the other can start regrouping everywhere, and this sheet makes them stop and check first.
What students will practice
- Decide when subtraction needs regrouping
- Subtract within 100
