About this worksheet
Twenty two-digit subtraction problems stacked in columns, and in every one the top ones digit is big enough, so no regrouping is needed. The direction is simple: subtract the ones first, then the tens.
This is the place to start two-digit subtraction. With no regrouping to worry about, a child can get comfortable working right to left, column by column, before borrowing comes into it.
What students will practice
- Subtract two-digit numbers in columns
- Subtract the ones, then the tens
- Line up tens and ones
