About this worksheet
Eight autumn problems, each with two little groups of pictures sitting above a written number sentence: acorns, mushrooms, apples, sunflowers, pumpkins, corn, maple leaves and squirrels. A hedgehog carrying a basket of apples sits by the title.
This is the bridge between counting pictures and reading an equation. The pictures match the numbers exactly (two acorns and four acorns over 2 + 4), so a child can check the numerals against something real. The sums run from 1 + 2 up to 5 + 5, and there is a space for the date as well as a name.
