About this worksheet
Six rows of sea creatures, each split into two boxes with a plus sign between them: crabs, starfish, sea turtles, fish, jellyfish and shells. The child counts both groups and writes how many there are altogether in the circle. A smiling whale watches from the corner.
There are no numerals on the page at all, which is the point. Addition here is simply “count them all”, so a child who can count to 10 can do every row. The totals run from 5 starfish up to 9 turtles and 9 jellyfish, so nothing goes past 10.
What students will practice
