About this worksheet

A ten-story skyscraper to color by position: color the first floor red, the sixth blue, the tenth green, and so on up the building. Counting starts at the ground floor and climbs, so kids build the idea that “first” is the bottom and each floor up is the next ordinal.

Because the floors stack vertically, this one reinforces ordinal order in a way a left-to-right row can’t, a nice change of direction alongside the caterpillar and ice cream pages.

What students will practice

  • Read position words first through tenth
  • Count floors up from the ground to find each position
  • Color each floor the color it names
