Number 1 Worksheet for Preschool: One Smiling Sun

About this worksheet

A big 1 to trace along the arrows sits next to a smiling sun, with the word one and “1 sun” printed underneath. Below that comes a row of dotted 1s to trace, a ten frame of suns where a child colors just one, and a row of mixed numbers with three 1s hiding in it to find and circle.

The 1 is the gentlest numeral to start with: one slanted flick and one straight line down, both marked with arrows. Coloring just one sun out of ten is harder than it looks for a child who wants to color them all, and that pause is the real counting lesson.
