Sort Vowels and Consonants: Cloud CVC Worksheet

About this worksheet

Rainbow arches run along the top and bottom of the page. Between them, five cloud shapes hold the words sun, web, cat, fox, and pig, each followed by three empty circles under Vowel and Consonants. The vowel goes in the first circle, the two consonants in the two after it, in order.

The five words here are the most familiar CVC words a kindergartner meets, which keeps the difficulty in the sorting rather than the reading. If a child can already read the word at a glance, all the effort goes where it should: deciding which letter is the vowel.
