About this worksheet

Fifteen pictures across five rows, in soft full color inside a scalloped border: a van, a net, a bib, a log, a cup, a map, a jet, a lid, a fox, a tub, a bag, a pen, six apples, a pot, and a rug. Each carries its word with the middle letter blank.

This is the longest kindergarten page in the set, and the one to save until the ten-word sheets feel routine. All five vowels come up three times each, so a child who is solid on short a but hazy on short u has nowhere to hide. The instruction says it plainly: say the picture name, write the vowel you hear in the middle.
