About this worksheet

Nine oversized uppercase letters drift across a starry page: S, E, P, A, U, I, T, O, and D. All five vowels are there, mixed with four consonants, and kids circle every vowel they find. A smiling planet, a UFO, a crescent moon, and a shooting star fill the space around them.

With only nine letters and no writing, this is the gentlest page in the set, and the one to reach for first with a child who is still shaky on letter names. The letters are printed large enough to trace with a finger before circling, which is worth doing out loud: A, E, I, O, U.
