About this worksheet
Five rows, one per sense, each starting with the sense picture and word and followed by four colorful pictures. Three belong and one does not, like the trumpet in the row for seeing or the stinky sneaker in the row for tasting.
Odd one out asks for a bit more thinking than matching, because a child has to hold the sense in mind and test every picture against it. The silly ones (nobody wants to taste a sneaker) make it fun, and asking why the odd one does not belong is an easy way to get children talking.
What students will practice
- Spot the picture that does not match a sense
- Group objects by the sense we use
- Explain why something does not belong
