About this worksheet
Five colorful pictures down the left (a stack of pancakes, a skunk, a xylophone, a teddy bear and the moon) and five children down the right, each showing a sense: hearing, tasting, seeing through binoculars, smelling and touching. Children draw a line to join each picture to the sense they would use most.
Each picture has one clear best answer, so it works as a first check that the idea has landed. The skunk tends to get the biggest reaction, which makes it a good one to start the conversation with.
What students will practice
- Decide which sense goes with an everyday thing
- Match pictures to the five senses
