About this worksheet
Sixteen number sentences, each with a box for the missing number. In twelve of them the box is one of the addends (23 + ? = 48), and in four it is the sum.
Finding a missing addend is subtraction in disguise: 48 take away 23. Counting up from 23 to 48 works just as well and is often easier. None of the problems need regrouping, so the focus stays on the thinking.
