Add and Color: Kindergarten Addition Worksheet

About this worksheet

Nine addition problems run down the page, each followed by four numbered circles. The child works out the sum and colors the circle that matches. The first row is filled in for them, 2 + 0 colored orange, so the instruction is clear before they start.

The problems climb gently, opening with 2 + 0 and 1 + 4 and finishing at 2 + 7 and 5 + 5. Two of them add zero, which is worth pausing on: plenty of children who can count on their fingers still expect zero to change the answer, and seeing 2 + 0 land back on 2 is a small, useful surprise.

Because the wrong choices sit right next to the right one, a child who guesses tends to give themselves away, and you can see at a glance which sums they actually know.
