Fourteen addition problems in two columns, each ending in an empty box for the answer. No choices to pick from this time, the child works out the sum and writes it.
That step up matters more than it looks. Choosing the right answer from a row of four and producing it yourself are different skills, and children who breeze through color-the-answer sheets often slow right down here. This is the sheet for the week after that one.
The problems cover the usual kindergarten ground without going past 10: doubles at 4 + 4 and 5 + 5, zero at 5 + 0 and 0 + 6, and a handful like 2 + 7 and 1 + 8 where counting on from the larger number is much faster than starting from one. The answer boxes are outlined in coral against a teal border, so a finished sheet looks tidy even when the handwriting inside is not.
