Color by Ordinal Numbers Worksheet: Socks and Balloons

About this worksheet

Six socks hang on a clothesline and an arrow marks where counting starts. Four directions follow, each naming a position and a color, and they skip about on purpose so nobody can work down the line in order. The second half swaps to balloons above a picket fence with the arrow pointing the other way, which quietly tests whether the first half was understood or just copied.

Reading the instruction is half the task here, so it works well as a page a child does alongside an adult the first time and alone the second. It is line art throughout, so the only color on the finished sheet is the color the child was told to add.
