About this worksheet
Sam is six, has one dog and two cats, likes to draw, and plays tag at recess with the child telling the story. The sentences are short and the words are ones a first grader meets every day, so the reading itself does not get in the way.
The questions run through who, how old, how many, what and which game, so a child practices the different question words as much as the story. Question three is a small trap worth noticing: Sam has a dog and two cats, and the question only asks about the cats. Prints in black and white.
