About this worksheet
Tess takes her new green and yellow kite to the big hill, her dad comes along, and the wind carries it up, up, up. The bright picture at the top matches the story closely, which helps an early reader check what they have just read.
The first four questions ask who, what colors, where and who else, all stated plainly in the text. The last one asks how Tess feels, and the story never names a feeling, so a child has to get there from the fact that she runs and laughs. It is a gentle first step from finding an answer to working one out.
