About this worksheet

Ten sentences that range further from the classroom than the other plain sheet in this set: cookies baking in the oven, a bridge going over a river, cheese between two slices of bread, a dog hiding behind the couch, a teacher standing in front of the class, fish swimming in a tank, a plane flying over the clouds. Eight words in the bank, ten blanks, so two get used twice.

The wider settings are what make this a good second pass. A child who has learned that “under” belongs with desks and chairs meets it somewhere new, which is the difference between knowing a word and knowing where it came up once. A star, a pencil and a cloud sit along the bottom for anyone who wants something to color at the end.
