About this worksheet
Firefighters work at a fire station, pull on coats, boots and helmets when the alarm rings, ride a big red truck and spray water on the fire with long hoses. It is a short nonfiction passage that fits neatly alongside a community helpers unit.
Five sentences underneath are each missing one word, and the word bank holds six. School is the extra, and it sounds plausible enough that a child cannot finish by elimination alone, so each blank gets checked against the passage. Prints in black and white, and the firefighter can be colored in afterwards.
