Ruby's Rainy Day Reading Comprehension for Grade 1

About this worksheet

Ruby pulls on her red rain boots, takes her yellow umbrella, and goes for a walk with Grandpa. They spot a slow little snail on the path, and back home Grandpa makes warm cocoa.

Every answer is a picture to circle, so this is the sheet to reach for with a child who reads well enough but tires the moment a pencil has to form words. It still checks real reading: the umbrella question offers yellow, red and blue, and red is right there on Ruby’s boots, so a child who skimmed will often pick it.
