S or ES Word Sort Singular Plural Worksheet for Grade 1

About this worksheet

A word bank of ten nouns and a two-column chart underneath: one side for words that just add s, one side for words that add es. The child reads each word, decides which ending it takes, and writes the plural in the matching column.

The bank splits evenly, five and five, which gives a child a quiet way to check their work. If one column ends up with seven words, something went into the wrong one.

With no pictures to lean on, this is a good sheet for after a child has done the rule a few times with picture support. It prints in black and white, and the turtle in the corner is there for anyone who finishes early and wants to color.
