Singular and Plural Review Worksheet for Grade 1

About this worksheet

Two short parts on one page. First the child writes the plural of eight nouns, mixing words that just add s (cap, nut, lamp, ship) with words that add es (kiss, ax, bunch, bush). Then they circle the word that finishes each of six sentences.

The sentence half is where singular and plural start to matter. “Two (pup / pups) play in the mud” has the answer right there in the word two, and “The (bus / buses) are at the school” hides it in the verb, which is a good step up.

It works well as a check at the end of a week on plurals, or as homework, since it prints in black and white and needs no pictures to make sense.
