About this worksheet
A fourteen by fourteen grid with sixteen body words hidden in it, listed in four rows underneath: wrist, thumb, ankle, cheek, chin, tooth, tongue, lips, heel, toes, waist, hip, jaw, palm, shin and shoulder. Words run across and down only, so there is no diagonal hunting, and shoulder sits along the top row as a free win to get started.
The vocabulary is what puts this at second grade rather than first. Waist, jaw, palm and shin are words a child hears rarely and reads even less, and a word search is a forgiving way to meet them, since the grid confirms the spelling instead of demanding it. At twenty-five minutes it runs long for a single sheet, which makes it a good early-finisher page or something to leave in a folder for a wet break.
