About this worksheet
Four children with blank faces, one in a winter hat, one with braids, one in a backwards cap and one with curly hair. Under each is a feeling word and a small face that shows it: happy, sad, silly and surprised. The child draws a face on each child to match.
Drawing a feeling asks a preschooler to think about what that feeling looks like: a smile turns up, a sad mouth turns down, surprised eyes go wide. The little picture beside each word means a child who cannot read yet can still do the whole page. It is also a natural place to talk, since asking what makes you feel silly usually gets a better answer than asking how you feel.
Plain line art with a dotted border, it prints in black and white and can be colored in afterward.
