About this worksheet
Four everyday objects on the left and four labeled shapes on the right: a circle, a triangle, a square and a rectangle. The child draws a line from each object to the shape it looks like.
The objects are things a child sees every day. A sandwich cut corner to corner makes a triangle, a window is a square, a book is a rectangle and a clock is a circle. The book and the window are the pair to watch, because telling a square from a rectangle is exactly the distinction kindergarten is working on. Afterward, go on a shape hunt around the room.
